God may never sleep, but sometimes, I wish He did.

I reluctantly wake to find Whirling Dervish had vacated his own bed and is next to me. His warm back pushed up against mine in a not quite successful attempt at snuggling. But it seems to work for him. I hear no complaints as I turn and curl my body around his for added warmth and comfort - to us both.

I grin sleepily and purpose to fall back asleep. His contented, soft snores a perfect accompaniment.

It seems I was made to do this. This mothering thing. As frustrating and tiring as it can be at times, I am happy. Content. Hoping that I do my chickadees proud.

Hoping that God is happy with my efforts. Forgiving my impatience and selfishness. Understanding my struggles and fears. Loving me anyway.

If only God would let me hear Him softly snoring.

  1. What a lovely post. I don't know that I would be so tender and poetic if cold little feet joined me while I slept. I'm not used to that from my little ones anymore :(

Got your package today. Can hardly wait to start them :) Thanks!

  2. I also feel like I was made to be a mom. It's a good feeling:)
