Monday's Mouthful O' Joy - Farm Rolls

I can't remember exactly where I came across this recipe, but I think my roommate's mom gave it to me when I lived with them between my first senior year and second senior year of college. A-hem.

I am not much of a baker - or cook, for that matter, but I can follow a recipe without too much trouble. This is a super yummy, super easy recipe. A sweet addition to any meal. The Affectionate One is a carb girl after my own heart and she drools every time I make them. If there are ever any leftovers (a rare occurance), she is eye balling them. I usually reserve this recipe for special occasions because we try to eat whole grain wheat bread for our normal fare. But once in a while, it doesn't hurt to have a tasty treat.

Farm Rolls
Dissolve 1pkt yeast into 1/2 cup of warm water with 1 Tbs sugar. Let rise while doing the following.

Mix 1/2c oil with 1/2 c sugar into
4c flour
1c warm water
1 tsp. salt

Add yeast to flour mixture and mix well, but do not over mix. A stand mixer works the best, but a hand mixer can also be used. Dough will be sticky.

Put a dish towel over bowl and let rise until doubled. Punch down, divide into rolls and place into pan(s). I make my rolls rather large. I can fit five or six into a round cake pan. Let rise again.

Bake 20 min @ 350*.
