Cherie's Christmas Carol

Whew! What a whirlwind these past few days have been. Moving is never easy, even when you've done it as often as we have. With 10 moves in 10 years we should be a whole lot better at this, ah well.

The stress is compounded by the fact that we are moving into an extremely small space. Family has been helpful beyond imagination in so many ways, and that's always a blessing.

The other thing that helps is the great attitudes and excitement that my children have shown. Mark and Cherie have been singing non-stop. Mark likes to sing the theme song to Little Einsteins. At the dinner table, in bed at night and in the bathtub. No place is too sacred -- including church, during the offertory. The very quiet offertory.

Cherie has her own theme song. She's recently discovered Tinkerbell. She's been into all the Princesses and has plenty of paraphernalia to prove it. Posters, clothing, bedding, decor -- you name it, we've been personally (and monetarily) acquainted with it. Now that Tinkerbell has entered our lives, I am wondering how she'll fit in.

So far we have just been blessed by her presence via song. It's difficult to do Cherie's new theme song justice without actually hearing it, but I think you'll quickly get the idea with just the first few lines:

"Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell tinker all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh. Yay!"

Sounds like a truly a Disney Christmas here these days!

  1. Bless you, bless you, bless you dealing with moving! I am convinced that it is of the Devil. I'm glad that mine aren't the only children who punctuate quiet moments in church with their, um, exuberance! LOL

  2. I have to tell you, dear reader that reading this post eleven years later, is making me cry-laugh. Especially since I read it to my (now 15 year old)daughter. Her response was a hearty: "I sure have a way with words!"
