Movie Review - The Man Who Invented Christmas

I've been asked to do a review of the upcoming film called "The Man Who Invented Christmas." Honestly, my immediate reaction was to say no. Any reader who is at all familiar with me will will not be surprised to know that the title put me off. I know that it wasn't a man who "invented" Christmas, at least as Christians are supposed to celebrate it.

However, there is much to be said for the fact that mankind has added many traditions to the holiday so that it has become something quite secular in nature. So, keeping that in mind and ignoring the unfortunate title (for now), I agreed to review the movie. I am not endorsing this film as of yet. I am merely alerting you, dear reader, to it's upcoming release. A review will follow in the near future.

With that in mind, here are the details as they have been given to me so far.

THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS is a delightful family film that will hit theaters on Friday, November 22 - just in time for this holiday season! Dan Stevens brings beloved author Charles Dickens to life as we follow the inspiration that helped him craft one of the most cherished novels of all time, A Christmas Carol.

Synopsis: The Man Who Invented Christmas tells of the magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other classic characters from A Christmas Carol. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY), the film shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) mixed real life inspirations with his vivid imagination to conjure up unforgettable characters and a timeless tale, forever changing the holiday season into the celebration we know today.

Bleecker Street will release THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS in theaters on November 22, 2017

Truly, with a cast that includes Christopher Plummer and Dan Stevens, it has to be entertaining. I can tell you with a fair amount of enthusiasm that the trailer promises a delightful movie (You can view the trailer by clicking here). As a writer, I look forward to watching the story of another writer unfold. I do look forward to previewing this film and giving my honest thoughts.

Joyfully,
