We Interrupt . . .

We interrupt the regularly scheduled Thursay blog for a few important updates
(It has taken me eighteen, count 'em, eighteen hours to get this post up and running. I have had more interruptions than a mangy ol' dog has fleas. And now blogger is down for the count!)

The Calm One has arrived at his destination all in one piece, though not without incident. There were weather delays and then there was the minor bout with pneumonia. Yeah, that's right, I said pneumonia!

Only my husband would travel half way around the world in order to catch a potentially fatal disease! At any rate, they were able to diagnose him in the early stages, so his treatment and recovery time was somewhat minimal. Thank. You. Lord. So, now he's immersed in his regular routine -- whatever that is, --and being a productive member of his unit. Keep him healthy and safe, Lord.

And just as an aside, tomorrow is Friday (I bet you already knew that part) and that means it's time to show your support for our troops by wearing red. All the cool kids are doing it. Okay, okay echoes of "If all the cool kids were jumping off a bridge. . . " notwithstanding. If you haven't a clue what I'm talking about, A.) where have you been? and 2.) you can read about it by clicking here. Shout out to Mad About You fans - whoooooo!.

I received an exciting offer the other day. An up and coming business asked me to to help rewrite text for their website. I am at once elated and terrified, I confess. I've not done anything of this sort before, but I am anxious to flex my gray matter muscle and get those creative juices flowing once again. Did someone mention that there is life after motherhood?!

There is still time to get in on the all the blogging fun over at 5 Minutes for Mom where the Ultimate Blog Party continues. Last time I checked there were over 1400 blogs listed and each one of them hopes you'll click on over. In the vein of that SNL shaggy-haired ne'er do well duo: Party on, Dude! Party on!
