Gotta tell ya, medication can make children say some funny things.
The other night at the dinner table, after suitably dosed and munching on an english muffin, Cherie uttered the following non sequitur:
“Aunt B– has stripes across her nose when she laughs. That means she’s old. And I, for one, love her.”
In a woefully unsuccessful attempt to conceal his laughter, The Calm One asked The Affectionate One, “What kind of stripes are they exactly?” Cherie sighed and then emphatically stated, “Racing stripes, Daddy!”
If she’d been eleven and living in 1987 there would have been a “Duh!” at the end of her emphatic statement.
It’s a good thing that Aunt B– has a great sense of humor.
Aunt B– we all love you here in the Jubilant household – apparently most of all by Cherie.
