In this blog I hope to focus on the good, the amusing and the encouraging things that God brings my way. Alas, dear reader, I am blessed with a temperament that does not easily lend itself to such a lofty ambition. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I intend to remedy that. I know I cannot change my temperament per se, but I can change my focus to be more pleasing to God.
I am taking Beverly La Haye's advice and reading Philippians every day for 30 days to help focus on being joyful and thankful and not so critical. So far, so good.
Today verse six of the first chapter has caught my attention and I'll be ruminating on it for awhile: "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
What an amazing promise! God doesn't just walk away from us and say, "These are the cards you're dealt. See what you can do with 'em." Certainly we have the responsibility to use our talents and gifts for Him, but he's gonna help us, guide us, never leave us. Now that is something to be joyful for!
